Doug Horne has spent over 30 years as a music educator and professional musician. He has, at various times, been a member of the Joliet American Legion Band, South Holland Band, Kankakee Municipal Band, Bill Gerald Orchestra, Shout Section Big Band, and the Jazz Time Big Band. He is also Director of Music at Family of Faith Church in Monee, IL.

Step back in time to the golden era of music with Doug Horne and the Rhythm Makers Orchestra! We are a passionate band dedicated to reviving the timeless classics from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. With our authentic sound and nostalgic charm, we transport our audiences to an era of elegance, swing, and infectious rhythms.

Our Performances

TIMELINE ENTERTAINTMENT

  • Swing or Ballroom Dance - perform a variety of dance music and various tempos, including swing, latin, and rock ​tunes. Selections may include, Girl from Ipenaema, Sir Duke, Just the Way You Are, Someone to Watch Over Me, ​etc.
  • Military & Patriotic Concert- Performance would include patriotic numbers, including the The Star Spangled ​Banner, God Bless America, Armed Forces Medley, and tunes associated with the WWII era, including Sentimental ​Journey and St. Louis Blues March.
  • Best of the Big Bands Concert - highlighting the best of the great dance bands, with selections from Glenn Miller, ​Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and others
  • Tribute to Glenn Miller - tunes include selections made famous by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra, in the original ​arrangements, including, In the Mood, Pennsylvania 6-5000, Adios, Frenesi, Elmer's Tune, etc.
  • Wedding and Anniversaries - special requests are no problem!
  • Swingin’ the Classics - Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Bizet, Gershwin, and others done in swingtime!
